Depending on what group the child is in, they will take the antibiotics for 3, 5, 6, 8, or 10 days. \n\nParents will report the child's symptoms using email or smartphones. We will check the symptoms carefully to make sure that the treatment is working well. We will also see the child for a follow-up appointment 3 weeks after the start of treatment and collect a third urine sample to test for bacteria at 5 weeks. Doctors will prescribe more antibiotics during the trial if the treatment is not working well. \n\nAt the end of the study, we will know how many days of antibiotic children with urine infections should take to get better. \n\nTo make sure people learn about this new information we will talk to other doctors and people in the NHS who write national guidelines. Parents who have helped design this study will help deliver the study and the final message to parents and children.",{"url":72,"width":73,"height":74,"alt":63},"curly-content-image-5@2x.png",920,600,{},{"type":65,"settings":77,"text":78,"title":79,"image":80,"links":82,"sectionSettings":86},{"imgWidth":67,"imgPosition":68},"If you are considering taking part in the CURLY Study, please follow the link below to open the CURLY Participant Information Tool.
